2 T'ai Chi T ai Chi Full Moon Circle Form. A compact (28 moves) form that can be done just about anywhere! This class will cover the first half of the form with more classes coming at a later date. T ai Chi has been used for centuries for improving health through movement; reducing stress by learning how to breathe properly, as well as strengthening the body and helping with balance. TRX is known for all core all the time. It s is a revolutionary total-body fitness program that uses gravity against the individual s own body weight to simultaneously develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability. Cardio intervals on the spin bike will be inserted into the classes in between rounds of TRX sets to condition your cardiovascular system. Each team will play one 48-minute game per night. There will be a referee and time keeper/score keeper at each game. The league will be eight weeks, including playoffs and is limited to six teams. Adult Art Pottery for the Beginner In this beginner course, participants will learn introductory level wheel throwing techniques to make tumblers, mugs & bowls. Included is one drop-in in the Pottery Studio where you will glaze your work. Clay is an additional $11.20/half bag. 6 Youth On Weights This package is for year olds looking to start training in the Fitness Centre. Three separate one-hour sessions will be conducted, which include an orientation to the Fitness Centre, an individual program session and an exercise review session. A Youth Card will be issued upon completion which allows access to the Fitness Centre. $64.50 (3 X 1 hour sessions) Group Training Is it time for your team to start getting ready for the upcoming season? Working out with friends or colleagues is a sure-fire way to stay on track with your fitness routine. Let us design and conduct fun and energizing training sessions specifically for your group. External Training Are you a Personal Trainer and would like to train your clients at Meadow Park Sports Centre? Please contact the Fitness Programmer for more details at Value Added Class Descriptions Boot Camp This workout is designed to make you go that extra mile to attain your goals whether it be weight loss, cardiovascular efficiency, increased strength, or just to get into a routine of regular exercise. Find camaraderie by completing drills in a group or by yourself while we all work towards the same short and long term goals by bringing this traditional outdoor workout inside the gym. Circuit Sign-up early for this popular circuit style workout designed for your whole body, including innovative strength exercises alternating with cardio power surges, balance work and core. Finish off with a full body stretch and relaxation session. Gentle Flow Yoga End your hectic day with a slow paced Yoga flow that s easy on the body and the brain. Reap both physical and mental benefits while we slowly move between asanas and breaths. A great class for yoga newbies or those with injuries in our non-competitive environment. Let the pose fit your body, not your body fitting the pose. MAC Exercise design with older adults in mind! Move to music for increased strength, balance, and coordination while socializing with your peers in a fun, non-competitive environment. Classes will provide special assistance for individuals returning to exercise from injury or absence. All levels welcome to each class. Step This is a classic. Follow along to fun and easy to learn step combinations designed to keep you moving and sweating. Interval hi s and lo s will guarantee to keep the heart pumping. Finish off with some core and abs work and good simple stretch. Yun Yoga Unwind from your day in this calming class. Yin yoga compliments a dynamic and active lifestyle well. In yin yoga, there are fewer poses that are held for longer amounts of time. By holding poses, connective tissues are released, thus improving flexibility, circulation, and joint health. The asanas (postures) chosen in this practice stretch energy lines stimulating healing and nourishment of the organs, and move prana (life force) through the body.
