1 Moose Lodge 52 Chapter 2121 Not long ago it was a requirement of membership to attend an Enrollment Ceremony before your membership card would be processed. This ceremony, also known as the Ritual, provided general information to new members about the Loyal Order of Moose, Mooseheart, Moosehaven and our involvement with other charities and our local communities. Circumstances removed the requirement to attend an enrollment. Unfortunately, many new members were not informed of the values and purposes of Our Fraternity. This does not mean that the information is not available, for the curious. Due to today s technology it is out there in many formats. For those who like the basic internet the Moose International website is a good start providing general information, news and links to Mooseheart and Moosehaven. The Oklahoma Southern Kansas Moose Association website provides Annual Easter Egg Hunt Woodward, Oklahoma 52, Loyal Order Of Moose Want to Know More About The Moose? This year s Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Sunday April 1 st at 1:00 PM in Crystal Beach Park near the band shell. The Hunt will feature four areas segregated by age and one special needs area. This event is open to the public so invite your friends and neighbors. general information the association, sponsored activities, lodge locations and operating hours, links to some lodge newsletters and links to Moose International, Mooseheart and Moosehaven. For those of you who like using which based on statistics is 75-85% of you regardless of age there are several videos available, simply search YouTube for Moose Fraternity, Mooseheart or Moosehaven. These videos range from brief about one minute to thirty minutes. These videos provide first hand accounts of Mooseheart and Moosehaven residences, general information and news. Our Lodge Ritual Team holds an Enrollment Ceremony on the forth Monday of each month and invite all members of both men and women to attend whether it is your first introduction to the Moose or if you woud just like to experience the Enrollment Ceremony. After the Easter Egg Hunt the Lodge will be holding a Family Dinner at 2:00 PM that is open to members and qualified guests. So grab the kids and join us at the park and Lodge for some family fun and fellowship. 2 A Word from the Governor Page 2 When you receive your Moose membership card it will be only inches high, but miles wide. I say this because it opens up a whole new world of privileges for you and your family. This is one of the first lines you hear at the enrollment ceremony. One of the great privileges I have had is meeting and working with moose members not only from our lodge but thru out the fraternity. My two years as governor, has Update aries, There is always something going on in the Lodge. Just a few of the things coming up this month. The Moose/Elks Easter Egg Hunt at Crystal Beach Park on Easter Sunday at 1:00. Cooking for a prom, OSKMA State Bowlers, the NWDL Awards Banquet and Steak and Shrimp Night. Every weekend has something going on, so there is plenty of opportunity to get involved. Our next Gathering will be Friday, April 6 th, with a meal at 7:00pm and the meeting at 8:00pm. I had heard a rumor that one of our aries had acquired a new Hot Wheels car, and he thinks it is fast. So after the meeting we will have to find out just how fast it really is. Following the meeting we will adjourn to the Social Quarters for some Hot Wheels Drag Racing. Bring your favorite cars and see who comes out on top. been at times very rough however with the help of good friends we have made it thru another year. The board of officers and members alike have come together in those trying times and we have made our lodge run. 4 Women of the Moose Update Just getting back from OSKMA midyear. What an amazing conference. It is always wonderful to see old friends and wonderful opportunity to make new friends. I want to touch on a few of the highlights. Jan Fregulia was our official visitor for the women. Jan is the Executive Director of our Moose Charities. Jan will be retiring June the second and she will be missed tremendously. We were so fortunate to have had her in our organization as she is a wonderful caring individual with so many talents. Congratulations to Nicole Twyman for receiving the Coworker of the Year award and Teresa Thomas for being nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations to Connie for receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. Thank girls for all you have done and continue to do. One of the things that we always discuss is membership. I'm really confused as to why someone would not join such a wonderful organization as The Moose Fraternity. The Moose s focus is on providing for children in need, and our seniors, not to mention all the wonderful things we do for our community. The cost of membership is $0.10 a day, yeah just $0.10 a day. We can all afford $0.10 a day to provide a safe environment for children in need, to grow up, to receive an Page education, to develop selfesteem, people skills, compassion and love. Not to mention, that same $0.10 a day affords our seniors at Moosehaven the opportunity to be well taken care of, for outstanding healthcare and so many other things. We do amazing things for our community. There has not been a community crisis that we have not been available to assist in any way possible. I remember all the things that we did for the people that were affected in the tornado. I know that's been a few years but, we continue to help people in our community. We help our veterans, Red Cross, Domestic Crisis Center, Food Bank, etc. etc., etc. The next time you're in the Lodge go to the bulletin board in the back and look at the people that may have let their dues expired and give them a call. We need them, our community needs them, our children at Mooseheart need them and our seniors at Moosehaven need them. We want you and them to partner with us and let's do great things together and have fun. Folks, it is just $0.10 a day thank you. Travis was originally from Norman and he and his brother both graduated from Mooseheart. Travis has once again returned to Oklahoma working for the Finance Department at OU.
