7 Aquatics - Lifeguard and Instructor Training Aquatics - Private Lessons and Competitive Swimming LIFEGUARD TRAINING BRONZE STAR PREREQs Learn the basics of emergency response and start the process of becoming a lifeguard. 10-week program. 9 Programs - Preschool and Child Programs - Child and Youth Child and Youth Programs INTRO TO BALL SPORTS 10-WEEK CHILD PROGRAMS AGES COST Striving to build confidence and life and sports skills, our preschool and youth programs are designed to give kids the opportunity to meet new people, socialize, and grow. Check out our programs below and register online now! All programs start the week of April 1, Registration opens March 4, TUMBLEBUGS An introductory, modified gymnastics program that develops basic movement in little ones, TumbleBugs is fun, safe, and inclusive. TumbleBugs includes both active and quiet segments, with program facilitators encouraging both directed and exploratory learning to teach fundamental movement skills and support healthy growth and development. FUTURE STAR MULTI-SPORT 10-WEEK PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS A multi-sport program for young kids, Future Star focuses on soccer, basketball, and soccer baseball for three weeks each. During the final class, participants showcase their new skills in all three sports, inviting family and friends to join in. AGES 3-5 years Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. 10-WEEK CHILD PROGRAMS COST Members: $60 General: $ years Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Members: $71.25 General: $95 Learn the fundamentals of volleyball, soccer, and basketball in this ball sport-focused program. Instructors focus on each sport for three weeks and dedicate to last class to a review of all learnings. MULTI-SPORT Covering basketball, soccer, badminton, pickleball, floor curling, and floorball, participants learn the basics and showcase their new skills during the final class to family and friends. FLOORBALL Learn how to play floorball in this fast-paced program that develops athletic and game-play skills. Kids who already love or are interested in hockey will enjoy running drills and getting acquainted with floorball! INTRO TO RACQUET SPORTS Focusing on three sports for three weeks each, participants will learn the fundamentals of some of the world s most popular racquet sports, badminton, pickleball, and tennis. JR. NBA A basketball skills development program for kids, Jr. NBA teaches the fundamentals of basketball with each week focused on a specific skill. The final week features a showcase of everything learned, along with a mini game of basketball that includes parents and Sportsplex staff! Basketball Breakfast Club is an elite skills development program, motivating youth who aspire to play sports at a high level. Participants work with experienced program instructors to learn a variety of sport-specific skills that increase the likelihood of long-term success. Drop your little ones off at childminding while you take in a workout, fitness class, swim, and more! EPIC FUN MARCH BREAK CAMP Ages 6-8 and Childminding is included in your family membership or is accessible with a youth day pass. Parents or guardians must be in the facility while their children are in childminding. Childminding hours are listed on our website under Programs & Schedules. Get dropped off at the Zatzman Sportsplex every morning of March Break for a week of EPIC FUN! From swimming to gym time, to arts and crafts and classic games, you ll love being active with friends and spending time away from school, recharging for the rest of the year. All campers receive a t-shirt! Teens Takeover on Friday Night Registration opens Feb. 25, 2019 at Dates: March Times: 8 a.m. - What to bring? Lunch and any snacks. Water bottle. Swimwear Gym (indoor) shoes. Sportswear (i.e. something comfy for gym time!) Thanks to the Zatzman family donation, we re opening the facility for three free hours of swimming, gym time, socializing, and more on Fridays. On Fridays from 7-10 p.m., the pool, gym, and studios will be teens only. Members can still use the fitness centre during this time. AQUAFIT A classic aquatic fitness class, Aqua Fit is ideal for those who want an activity that s intense for their muscles with little-to-no impact on their joints. AQUA YOGA IN THE WATER Yoga, with the added benefit of the support, resistance, and calming effect of being surrounded by water! Enjoy a gentle yet invigorating stretch in our accessible training pool. INTO THE DEEP This deep water fitness class will familiarize you with our Olympic-sized swimming pool in a fun group setting! H2O POWER Fitness Classes Our most intense aquatic fitness class, H2O Power provides the muscular and cardio training you re looking for without the impact of dry-land workouts. Suitable for intermediate to advanced levels of fitness.
