YOUTH PROGRAMS YOUTH FITNESS KUNG FU KIDS Si Fu Craig Taylor 2nd Degree Black Belt T 6:30 pm 6:45 pm 7:15 pm 7:30 pm $42 $150 This high energy, skills-based class provides children the opportunity to explore their individuality through the development of skills such as teamwork, memory, coordination, self-control, and self-discipline. Instructor reserves the right to place a student according to skill rather than age. The two classes will overlap for 30 minutes for skills and conditioning appropriate for all. TAE KWON DO Rufilo Lawrance 4th Degree Black Belt 7-12 W 6:30 pm 7:30 pm $42 $150 This class is a fun, healthy way to develop flexibility, stamina, balance, coordination, self-discipline and self-defense skills using the techniques of this martial arts form. Classes emphasize safety, self-control, strength, and focus in a noncompetitive, mutually respectful environment. YOUTH CERTIFICATIONS SAFESITTER Jen Fiandaca FRI JULY 13 or AUGUST17 3:30pm 8:00pm $55 $55 The mission of Safesitter, a nationally recognized organization, is to provide life drills, safety skills and childcare training to youth in order to build safer communities. Course content includes: injury prevention and management, choking rescue and basic CPR. Students will receive a official Safesitter handbook and completion card. Self-acceptance and care are encouraged in this non-competitive class. 8 week session. Open to all levels and students are encouraged to work to their edge. Classes end with a deep breath relaxation period, leaving you energized and refreshed. 9 week session. No class June 25th. Each individual works to their own level in a contemplative non-judgmental environment. Classes are designed with each individual in mind. 9 week session. No class June 29th. Each class is different and includes props such as large stability balls, foam rollers, fitness circles, and bands. This is a total body workout designed to build endurance, enhance flexibility, and strengthen muscles using carefully selected exercises to help stretch and lengthen the body. 9 week sessions. The class utilizes traditional training methods designed to develop a sound mind and body. A variety of stances, kicks, and strikes are practiced individually and then combined with hand forms for natural, fluid reactions. Exercise drills will develop speed, power, endurance, flexibility, and balance. PERSONAL FITNESS & HOLISTIC HEALTH Beyond Strong Rick Smith Strongman Coach/ Competitor 18+ TH 6:00 pm 7:30 pm All $75 $200 Regardless of your fitness level you can be your own personal trainer. Using the tenets and equipment of strongman competitions you will work to achieve greater strength. These activities build true, functional strength from head to toe enabling you to strengthen muscles that are nearly impossible to strengthen with traditional weight training. It challenges the neuromuscular training and better replicates the challenges in everyday life. 10 week session runs June 21-August 23

A great cardio, core-satisfying, full body workout. $42 $64 P. 5 NON - MEMBER HYDRO FIT Merilee Perkins 16 + T/Th 9:00 am 10:00 am $42 $150 This class incorporates all of the components of other aqua fitness classes in a more progressive fashion. Participants work on low impact or high impact as desired. The supportive environment provides a great exercise program for active older adults, pregnant women, overweight and inactive individuals, and those recovering from injury. MASTER SWIM TEAM Tate Warden 18+ Visit sanfordymca.org/masters-swim-team Improve your overall fitness, swim just for fun, develop better technique, or rain for pool or open water swim events with Masters Swim! HEALTHY SUMMER Candy Smith 18+ M 10:30am 12:00pm All $50 N/A Need a little extra motivation and support during the summer months? Aimed at achieving optimum health this health program incorporates small group sessions 90 minutes per week, Each session is broken into minutes of focused group conversation, sharing and coaching regarding living a healthy lifestyle plus minutes of low impact movement and a targeted strength/ flexibility session. Topics to be covered include goal setting, sleep, hydration, food quality and food as fuel. Limit 10 participants. This is an 8 week class. ARTS PAINT NIGHT Amy Lapham 12+ JULY 13 7:00 pm 9:00 pm $20 $20 Spend two hours with a local artist laughing and painting your own masterpiece. Bring your own non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Play, sponsor, volunteer, or give - everyone can participate! Checkin opens at 8 am and we will have a shotgun start at 9:00 am. Player fees are $100/person and we have sponsorships ranging from $250 to $1,000, including the Key Contributor (minimum gift of $500). Proceeds from the tournament will support the Y's Capital Campaign, continuing to improve your bigger better Y. How to Prepare for a Road Race Chiropractor and Ultra Marathoner Tyler Kuntz June 28 6:45pm 8:15pm All Free to members and non members Dr. Kuntz will provide basic race training strategies to individuals who are new to running and those who are looking for more insight and advice. Topics will include hydration and nutrition, running mechanics, cadence, cross-training and running workouts. An open Q&A session will provide a great opportunity to ask questions you may have regarding training and pre and post-race activities. Kids Run Club 5-13yrs Tuesdays June 19- August 14 6:00pm 7:00pm All $10 for members and non members Y Kids run is a healthy kids program designed to encourage children to become physically active on a regular basis. The program will be run by volunteer coaches who will incorporate fun, education, safety and runner needs. We will use the Mousam Way Trails and the school track for our trainings. The last session will be an official walk/run complete with timers, water station and medals. June19-August 14 (No session July 3) Youth Spin 12-15yrs This summer we are inviting youth of age to join us for any of our regularly scheduled spin classes. Bike reservations are encouraged. Note: For safety reasons and individuals height may prevent participation Womens Safety Workshop: Keeping Self Safe Colleen Fahy Independent Damsel in Defense Pro 16+ July 12th 6:45pm 8:00pm All Free to members and non members This workshop will provide information and situational awareness training for women to help improve their personal safety if facing situations of unavoidable confrontation. This workshop is open to women, minimum age of 16. Anyone under 18 must come with a parent to sign their waiver. The tactics taught are designed to be easily learned and remembered by women who have no prior training. Men are welcome. Play Some Ball 3:3 Mondays starting July 2nd 6:00pm 8:00pm 3on 3 Co-Ed Basketball League Monday nights from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Two fifteen minute periods with running time. Games will be refereed.
