Our commitment to give back in some way to the community we serve is even more challenging this year as auto sales are at the lowest rate in forty years but still our decision was that we must step up and join you in this mighty effort. It is a tangible way that we can say thank you to our loyal customers who have blessed us with a successful dealership. Another overriding issue driving our participation is that there simply cannot be a reason that allows for a downturn in the battle against cancer. 11 Gulf Coast region American Cancer Society Facts 1,961 cancer patients were served with valuable information about cancer and services available at an estimated dollar value of $39, women who were newly diagnosed with breast cancer received a one-on-one visit from a survivor through our Reach to Recovery Program at and estimated dollar value of $23, rides were provided for cancer patients to their life-saving cancer treatments at an estimated dollar value of $21,300 1,681 cancer patients and/or their family members received valuable information on the cancer diagnosis through established ACS Resource/Information Centers located in Houston and our surrounding areas at an estimated dollar value of $33, women undergoing cancer treatment learned techniques to help them manage the treatment effects as well as received support through our Look Good Feel Better Program at an estimated dollar value of $56, equipment items were provided to cancer patients to assist them during their cancer experience at an estimated dollar value of $22, women undergoing chemotherapy received wigs at an estimated dollar value of $45,650 Early Detection The American Cancer Society, Early Detection programs provides the community and health care professionals with information on cancer detection, screening guidelines and screening services. Volunteers coordinate and partner with programs that focus on education, awareness and outreach to the community totaling approximately 76,209 Area churches participated in our Pink Ribbon Sunday of Purple Tea resulting in 64,122 individuals being reached with our Early Detection message at an estimated dollar value of $(20 per participant) That is $1,282,440 76,209 men and women learned the importance of Early Detection through educational programs hosted in the community at an estimated dollar value of $(20 per participant) That is $1,524,180
