2 Our Mission Foundation4 Domestic Violence Prevention is a 501(c)3 non-profit that believes by educating teens and pre-teens we will significantly reduce future incidents of every type of domestic violence. Funds raised from Clothed in Confidence: Hats & Heels will support the development of ageappropriate materials and a train-the-trainer program that will allow teachers and volunteers to educate 4 th 8 th graders. The 5-year curriculum will provide students with a solid foundation of self-worth, enable them to identify their core values and empower them to set boundaries that are in line with those values. Studies show that where self esteem programs have been introduced into the school setting, such programs can significantly reduce incidents of verbal or physical aggression by 40-50%. (Reasoner,1992, Borba, 1999) Self-esteem expert Jack Canfield reports that 80 percent of children entering the first grade scored high on the self-esteem inventory. By the fifth grade only 20 percent of the children were scoring high. And by the time they graduated from high school that number was down to just 5 percent. Together, we can change these statistics!

3 Clothed in Confidence: Signature Event Our 2018 signature event, Clothed in Confidence: Hats & Heels, is a fashion show with a twist. While showcasing our models and honoring those who are domestic violence survivors, we will also be educating our guests about various aspects of domestic violence. The program will provide a glimpse into the lives of a select group of models - women and men - who found themselves in an abusive relationship. We will answer questions like, why do they stay and who is at risk in addition to how abusers break down their victim s confidence to gain or maintain power and control. You will also learn how to spot the signs of abuse and how to help someone in an abusive relationship. Audience Profile: 250 est. attendance, 70% women, most age 30-65, professionals, HHI $120k+, children/grandchildren, concerned about social issues and hope for future generations.
