They will serve a delicious dinner at no expense to you; all you have to do is attend the meeting that starts at 12:00. We could not have made it without the help of the membership. The Lodge also received the Premier Lodge Award and the Sentinel Award for donating $6, to Moose Charities. Keep up the good work and let s repeat it again this year. Greetings to all! In response to membership request we have initiated a DJ Night once a month beginning in September. This will be on every third Friday of the month in lieu of karaoke. Power House gaming will be sponsoring the October event bringing in a D.J., Video and games. Come out and enjoy an alternative Friday event. October also brings Peanut Fest. Hoping for good weather and a successful event; Moose Legion will have our food trailer and membership table on site. 4 Sympathy in the passing of John Henry Goodman on August 15, He became a member of Suffolk Moose Lodge on March 7, John loved coming to the Friday night dinners and steak nights. He had many friends and never spoke badly of anyone. John was a dear dedicated Moose Brother and will be missed by all that new him. May He Rest in Peace? Our Chairman, Chelsea Edwards, is planning a great Halloween party for our children. Please bring your children, grandchildren, neighbors, etc. to join in the fun. There will be a cake auction, cake walk, costume contest and treats for the children. Other activities are planned. Her jitney dinner will be on October 19, 2018 and consists of Chili/Fried Chicken, Rice, Cornbread and Green Beans. WE DESPERATELY NEED DONATIONS OF CAKES, BROWNIES, COOKIES, ETC. FOR THE AUCTION AND CAKE WALK. THESE NEED TO BE AT THE LODGE BY 6:00 PM ON THE NIGHT OF THE PARTY, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26, WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU DO FOR THE WOTM! Our Junior Grad Regent, Synde Terry, received her Green Cap in Roanoke at the Mid-Year Conference in August. Not only did Synde receive Honors but the Chapter did also. We are so proud of Synde and the Chapter. CONGRATULATIONS SYNDE! Our Chapter received the Guardian Award for donations to Moose Charities for the year We are so proud of Synde and our Chapter. Our meetings are the 1 st and 3 rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. I would love to see all of our new members there to participate in our activities. 5 Sympathy: The WOTM lost three co-workers in the last month. All of these women will surely be missed. JoAnn Umphlette: Joined our Chapter on January 8, 2008 and passed on August 15, JoAnn was seen at the Friday night dinners and occasionally at the Saturday night dances. She was a ten year member and is survived by her husband, Bobby Umphlette, a member of Suffolk Moose Lodge #141. Nancy Hall; Joined our Chapter on April 19, 2016 and passed on August 7, Nancy was a two year member and could be seen at our Saturday night dances. Doris P. Bulls; Joined our Chapter on January 16, 1990 and passed on August 28, She was an eighteen year member and was mainly seen at the Saturday night dances. May They All Rest in Peace? Peanut Festival: It is getting time for the peanut festival and we are looking for a good year. We also need men and women Moose Members to help and appreciate all who are willing to volunteer. We cannot do it alone. We are going to get the trailer ready and in good order for the event. Hal and Wilbur will be in charge. Call them if you want to help. Everyone last year had a good time so help us make it a success since this is our biggest money maker. Come out and help and make it a great week for your Moose Lodge. Thank You!!
