1 News Monday 27th March 2017 Water and Sanitation Meets weekly at Benito s Restaurant 1196 Nepean Highway, Mount Eliza pm for 6.30pm start In what is one of our most enjoyable ou ngs of each year, the annual Bowls Night at Mt Martha once again provided us with a gastronomic and spor ng delight. Every year Rob Marks steps up to the mat, me culously organising this event with the help of his fellow Mt Martha Bowling Club members. On the bowling side of the evening, I was fortunate to be teamed up with Steve Daly and John Routledge against the formidable Peter Rawlings, John Waterhouse and guest Wayne Jenkins. Naturally the aforemen oned group came out on top. Many thanks go to Colin Stokes for con nuing his involvement with Enviro Week at the Briars. With a crew each day this week he managed to feed the hungry hordes, even overcoming a malfunc oning trailer BBQ and the possibility of being washed away by Tuesday s torren al rain. In a busy week, Friday saw our return to Bunnings for another BBQ event. Thank you to all those members who were able to get involved. This Monday s speaker is Mornington Hub Shopping Centre Manager, Carol White. Board members please note that our next Board mee ng will be on Wednesday 5 th April at Secretary, Peter Rawlings Office, 2/2 Blamey Place, Mornington. Thank you to all members who enjoyed the annual Bowls night. Members cooking a Sausage or two at the Mornington Peninsula Schools Environment Week at the Briars. Thank you to all members involved during the week. This week s Rotary Founda on thought: Arch C. Klumph - Well-rounded Ci zen This week s Rotary Founda on thought is about living a full and well-rounded life, as illustrated by the founder of our Founda on, Arch C. Klumph. From our archives: Arch had a great love of music. At age 18 he began to study the flute, and three years later he received a chair in the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra. He played with the orchestra for 14 years and was a lifelong sponsor of it. "My heart is in music and my head is in business," he said. Arch balanced his love of music and theatre with his professional business and dreamed huge dreams beyond Cleveland to the theatre of the world, with spectacular success. One of those dreams was The Rotary Founda on. Your contribu on to The Rotary Founda on keeps Arch Klumph s dream alive and fulfills the dreams of many people around the world who need our help.
