YMCA Membership is open to everyone - regardless of age, income or fitness level. More than a gym, a pool, or a place for fitness, YMCA members experience a sense of belonging, achievement and friendship that is hard to find anywhere else. Members have unlimited drop-in access at all branches of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka (Barrie, Collingwood, Innisfil, Gravenhurst, Midland, Orillia, Parry Sound, Wasaga Beach) and guest privileges at all Canadian YMCA s. Etiquette Statement: The YMCA is a shared experience for everyone to enjoy. Each of us can make it better for all by being considerate to others. YMCA participants, staff and volunteers pledge to treat one another with respect and dignity. The YMCA reserves the right to suspend or cancel a membership in its sole discretion for inappropriate behaviour or failure to comply with this Etiquette Statement. Technology Etiquette: The YMCA values and respects the privacy and security of all users. Electronic devices may only be used in a manner that does not infringe upon the enjoyment, privacy and security of others. Photography during any YMCA program or activity is not allowed. YMCA locker rooms are technology-free zones. When using locker rooms, electronic devices must be stored in pockets or gym bags. Cell phone conversations may only occur in the lobby of the YMCA. Fragrance-Free: Perfume, cologne and other items with fragrance may contain chemicals which can trigger severe allergic reactions, asthma attacks, migraines and COPD in some individuals. We recommend the use of un-scented personal care products while at the YMCA. YMCA Smoke Free: At the YMCA, we promote health and wellness. Smoking and Vaping is not allowed inside the facility. As the YMCA is situated on the Town of Collingwood s Central Park, the grounds are governed by Town of Collingwood By-Law which prohibits smoking anywhere on the property. Activity Advisory: Members engaging in physical activity are encouraged to have a medical check-up performed by their physician before participating in active exercise. You may wish to review the results with a YMCA Trainer. Emergency contact information is required upon signing up or purchasing a day pass. Photo ID & Membership Cards: To ensure the safety of all YMCA users, government issued photo identification is required to be presented to Member Services staff by all individuals entering the facility. Upon joining the Y, a Membership Card will be issued which must be presented upon each entry to the YMCA. Only the person to whom it was issued may use it. YMCA memberships are non-transferable. Lost membership cards must be reported to the YMCA and a replacement card purchased for $3.00. Change Rooms: A Family & Special Needs Change Room is available for parents with opposite gender children under the age of 10. It may also be used by anyone who requires additional/private space due to special circumstances. All users must wear swimsuits in the showers. Clothing/swimsuit must be worn outside the change cubicles. This change room includes oversized day lockers, washroom facilities, showers, change table, water wheelchair & direct access to the pool. General Access Change Rooms are available for males and females which include day lockers, washroom facilities, showers and direct access to the pool. These change rooms are for all ages. Adult-Only (18+ Plus) Change Rooms are available for males and females who are 18 years+ and who have paid to upgrade for this amenity. Once purchased, a YMCA card will be issued that will unlock the door. Monthly membership upgrades are available (prices vary) as well as daily member upgrades for $5/day. Adult-Only Change Rooms have day lockers, washroom facilities, showers, dry saunas, towel service, weight scales, watercoolers and direct pool access. Lockers & Towels: We encourage members to take steps to protect their valuables and we provide day use lockers for the storage of personal items. Please bring your own lock or purchase one at Member Services. The YMCA is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Members are asked not to bring valuables to the YMCA. Locks left overnight will be removed by YMCA staff. Towel Service: Towels may be rented for $2.00 each, or they are included if you upgrade to the Adult-Only monthly membership (prices vary). Guest Privileges: Members may bring an unlimited number of guests to the YMCA. Individual guests may use up to three guest passes per calendar year. If your guest requires more time at our YMCA, day passes are available for purchase. Guest passes are for the day and allow in and out privileges, however they are not transferable. On the 5th of each month, we celebrate: Bring A Friend For Free Day! Photo ID is required. Supervision of Children: Children s health and safety is important to us. Children who have not yet reached their 10th birthday must be supervised by an adult or guardian (minimum 16 years of age) at all times, including when in the pool. If children are in a YMCA program, the guardian must remain inside the facility. Conditioning Room access and fitness classes are for individuals 13 years of age or older. Individuals between the ages of 10 and 12 may use the Conditioning Room upon completing the YMCA Youth Wellness Program. Successful participants will earn a YMCA wristband and are required to wear it when using the Conditioning Room until they have reached their 13th birthday. Replacement wrist bands may be purchased for $3.00. Swim Supervision Policy: Children under 6 years of age must be directly supervised in the water by a parent/guardian who is at least 16 years of age, at a ratio of 1:2. All children must be within arms reach of the guardian in the shallow end. Children 6 to 9 years of age must be directly supervised in the water by a parent/guardian (16 yrs+) at a ratio of 1:4. Children 10 years+ are welcome to swim in the pool as appropriate to their swim ability. Children will be asked to perform the facility swim test. Those who cannot yet pass the swim test will be required to remain in the shallow end. Those with seizure disorders or other serious medical conditions should be accompanied by an individual knowledgeable of their condition and responsible for their direct supervision. Conditioning Room Etiquette: All users must demonstrate proper etiquette while using the Conditioning Room. Guidelines include: share equipment, wear clean running shoes with closed toes, wipe down equipment and return it to it s proper space after use, allow others to work-in between your sets. Cell phone conversations are to be taken to the lobby. Store belongings in a locked locker, and please be considerate of others. Membership Assistance: At the YMCA, we offer opportunities for all individuals to take part and get involved. Regular participation in Y activities supports a balanced approach to personal growth, health and wellness. Supported by YMCA fundraising efforts, the Membership Assistance program serves those individuals and families who have the greatest need in our community. They are unable, not unwilling, to pay the full fee for a General membership..

PICKLEBALL A fun and energetic paddle sport. This participant led program offers a variety of times throughout the week, suitable for recreational and more advanced players. CARDIO & CORE Combining the focus of a great abdominal & back strengthening workout with a heart pumping cardio workout. METAFIT A high-intensity workout including a series of body-weight exercises with interval style training, designed to keep your body burning calories long after your training session is complete. CARDIO & STRENGTH Variety is the key to this workout. Each class could include any version of cardio and strength training from our menu of programs. Try out different styles of cardio using different types of equipment. RUN CLUB Come meet other people & enjoy a run together. AQUAFIT This combination aerobic and muscle conditioning class takes place in the shallow and deep water. Flotation belts and hydro -fit dumbbells may be used. AQUA GENTLEFIT Strengthen and stretch in this shallow water workout. Great for rehab and strengthening. This class moves at a slower pace. PILATES This mat work class focuses on strengthening your core, as well as increasing your flexibility and endurance.
