Membership cards must be returned and the $25 cancellation fee paid. We are unable to accept cancellation requests by phone. Continuous Membership Your YMCA membership automatically renews each month. Payments can be arranged through your bank account or by credit card. Please remember to update all changes to personal information such as address, banking or credit card expiration dates. YMCA Access YMCA issued membership cards (or Photo ID) are required to access the facility. Pre-authorization is required by non-members to accompany children under age 12 to and from swim lessons. Children ages 0-7 require adult accompaniment in the water. Both the child and adult must pay. Adults supervising children ages 8-11 must be prepared to pay should the lifeguard express any concerns regarding a child's swimming ability. Adults accompanying children to dry-land programs are not required to pay. Child Minding (ages 0-6)** Child Minding is available in the TD room for up to 90 minutes for family membership holders. Parents/guardians must remain in the facility. Teen members will also be taught proper etiquette and basic training principles to build healthy habits. Note: Teens ages must complete an orientation prior to accessing the conditioning centre. Register at the Membership Sales & Service Coast Welcome Desk. Membership Holds Memberships may be placed on hold for one month, up to a maximum of six months. Requests must be made a minimum of five days prior to payment date. Membership on hold requests are permitted once every 12-month period. Published membership fees will apply at the time of reactivation. Re-registration for programs (swim lessons, karate, etc.) is required. Cancellation of membership not permitted while on hold. Passes are not eligible for holds. Court Sports Members may book the court at their convenience. Day pass users may book on the day they wish to use the court. Red arrows indicate directional use. Supervision of Children Children under age 12 must be directly supervised by a parent/guardian (16 years of age or over) at all times. Children participating in staff/volunteer led programs (including swim lessons) must be accompanied by their parent/ guardian to and from the program and signed in/out by the same parent/guardian. Please note the Aquatics guidelines on page 6. Members and guests with children participating in Child Minding or staff supervised programs (ages 0-5) are required to remain in the facility. Lockers Lockers are for day use only. Locks are available for purchase at the MSS Coast Welcome Desk. Please be sure to keep your belongings locked at all times. Garland Clarke Conditioning Centre Cardio equipment, selectorized strength cables, TRX, foam rollers, free weights, plyo pads, kettlebells, sled and more. Adaptive equipment also available. Must be minimum age of 12 to access the conditioning centre. Teens ages must complete an orientation to access the conditioning centre (see Orientations section on the left for details). Please wear indoor footwear in program spaces.

Staff provide structured games and activities in combination with free play. Active Kids (ages 3-5) Children ages 3-5 can enjoy this fun filled active program. Staff provide structured games and activities in combination with free play. Aqua Fit - Parent & Tot All are welcome! Bring along your little one for an Aqua Fit class of cardiovascular training, toning and stretching. Child accompaniment optional. Dance (ages 3-5) Join us for a basic jazz and contemporary dance class in a fun and casual environment. Feel free to select your own clothing. Bollywood A dance class for the whole family! Bollywood dance is a mixture of numerous styles. These styles include belly-dancing, kathak, Indian folk, Western popular, modern and jazz. Indoor Playground A fun filled environment that keeps children active and playing with other children (up to age 8). Inflatable bouncer is available. Parent/guardian supervision required. Tot (ages 0-2) Parent participation required for these Splasher and Bubbler levels. No registration required. Note: Children ages 3 and up may be registered in our Staff supervised lessons. Ball Hockey This drop in program encourages participation by children of all ability levels to develop their skills in a fun environment. 3 on 3 Basketball This drop in program encourages youth to work as teams in a 3 on 3 setting, adding a new and fun approach to the game of basketball. Beach Volleyball Learn new techniques in setting, bumping, and serving. Play a friendly half court scrimmage game and use the skills you have learned in practice. No experience necessary. Dance Join us for a basic jazz and contemporary dance class in a fun and casual environment. Feel free to select your own clothing. Registration required for participants under 13 years. Lifesaving Fitness (ages 10-14) In this award course, participants will be taught the importance of physical fitness in lifesaving. Candidate recognition: Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Water Polo (ages 9-12) Participants are introduced to the basic skills of water polo in a fun and encouraging environment. Must be able to swim a minimum of one length of the and tread water for at least 1 minute. Lifeguard Club (ages 10-14) The Lifeguard Club is a chance to build a network of like-minded individuals with a passion for skill development and knowledge within the lifesaving community. Soccer Kick and Pass! Develop passing, dribbling and many other soccer skills. Build on the fundamentals of good sportsmanship in a fun filled environment. No experience necessary. Indoor footwear required. Teen Programs (Ages 13-17) Handball-Beginner Similar to many racquet sports except the hand is used to strike the ball. No previous experience or equipment needed. 9 Ready to be Fit Y These classes are for anyone new to exercise or a seasoned exerciser who wants to learn new exercise skills. Each class will focus on a different group fitness style, teaching participants from a beginner level, while also offering challenges to those who need an extra push. Active Families Staying active with your kids is important in order for them to group up fit and healthy. Staff will provide structured games and activities in combination with free play. Handball-Beginner/ Drop in Handball Players learn the fundamentals of handball in the beginner slot while players of all levels are invited to play in the time slot that follows. Adult Swim ** Whether upgrading your skills or a first time swimmer, these lessons will help you meet your swimming goals. See page 4 of the program schedule for available times. Aqua Fit This class, held in the comfort of water, is designed for all fitness levels and is designed to improve your cardio, strength and range of motion. Aqua Fit - Parent & Tot All are welcome! Bring along your little one for an Aqua Fit class of cardiovascular training, toning and stretching. Child accompaniment optional. Aqua Jog Aqua jogging mimics the movement of jogging but without the impact. This class may take place in deep or shallow areas of the pool. Ball Fit Use the stability ball or BOSU ball to improve balance, flexibility and muscular endurance. Arrive early to set-up equipment. Bars & Plates A muscle conditioning class using a barbell and weighted plates. Weights are adjusted during class to provide appropriate resistance for various muscle groups. This class can take your strength and endurance training to new levels. Body Blast Specific muscle toning and conditioning exercises using free weights, stability and BOSU balls and other fitness equipment. Bollywood/ Bollywood A dance class for the whole family! Bollywood dance is a mixture of numerous styles. These styles include bellydancing, kathak, Indian folk, Western popular, modern and jazz. Boot Camp This low-choreography mixed impact class offers a challenge for all! Running, speed & agility work, weight training, plyometrics and much more come together to create a powerhouse workout. Core Strength and Stretch Strengthen your core through ab and lower back exercises, finish this class with a total body stretch. Cycle Fit A challenging, dynamic and fun class that incorporates various drills on a stationary bike. Please pick up a Cycle Fit Card at the Welcome Desk prior to start of class to reserve your bike. Cycle/Pilates A challenging, dynamic and fun class that incorporates various drills on a stationary bike. Finish off the class with a Pilates portion which is a combination of strength and flexibility. Please pick up a Cycle Fit Card at the Welcome Desk prior to start of class to reserve your bike. HIIT HIIT (high-intensity interval training) gets and keeps your heart rate up through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. Kettlebell Kettlebell training develops strength, flexibility, core control and stamina. Try Kettlebell and watch your energy and your body transform! Karate This martial art contributes to physical Group Fitness & Sport (Ages 18 +) well-being through learning a variety of blocks, stances, safety drills and more. Learn to Lift* Learn how to perform free weighted exercises properly, in a safe and encouraging environment with a certified instructor. A $20 nonrefundable fee is applicable at the time of registration. Mat Pilates Mat Pilates uses slow and controlled movements to strengthen your core with a flow of movements. Pre/Post Natal Fitness A fun and functional workout for mom s & mom's to be! Workouts are designed to target important areas affected with pregnancy. Includes a mix of cardio and strength exercises that are safe for any trimester and all levels of fitness. Each class will also have a stretch and relaxation component to help keep joints mobile, relieve pain and tightness and help mom relax. To join our Aquatics Team you must be a minimum age of 16 and hold both your Lifeguarding and Standard First Aid certifications. See the steps below: YMCA Learn to Swim Level 7 (Preferred) Jr. Lifeguarding (Adv. aquatics program recommended) Bronze Star (ommended) Bronze Medallion (Required) Bronze Cross (Required) Parent participation required for these Splasher and Bubbler levels. L il Dippers (ages 3-5) Join a team of young people with a passion for safety and perfection in first aid, lifesaving skills, physical fitness, leadership and teamwork. Earn credit towards the YMCA Learn to Swim Levels 5, 6 & 7 Advance lifesaving course designed to prepare participants for Bronze Medallion. Emphasis placed on rescue drills, fitness skills and victim recognition. Prerequisite: Star 3+ First step in advance lifesaving. Prerequisite: Current Bronze Star (no age requirement) or minimum age of 13. Second step in advance lifesaving. Prerequisite: Current Bronze Medallion. Bobbers, Floaters and Gliders. Prerequisite: Minimum age of 16 at time of exam (must be age 16 to guard in NL) and hold Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid, and CPR C. ertification required every two years. Rolling Registration at the YMCA means any active member's previously held swim lesson will continue after the Summer in the same time slot as before. New registration is required only if there is a change in swim level, or if a change in day/time is requested.
